Latvian charity campaign "Kara berni" for Ukraine raises EUR 73,000 in donations

Print versionIn Latvia, since the launch of the charity campaign "Kara berni" (Children of War) on May 13, 2015, the campaign has raised a total of EUR 73,000 in donations, reports LETA, according to the project's organizers.

They stressed that the campaign is not over, as a lot of work needs to be done in order to take in the first children from Ukraine already this fall. "Donations keep coming, and we thank everyone who has supported the campaign by devoting their work, time, and money," the organizers said.
The donations will be used to accommodate Ukrainian children from war zones at Latvian rehabilitation institutions. The project's activists are also currently thinking of ways how to attract families that would be ready to take in children from Ukraine.
