Eesti Pank "printed" nearly half a billion euros in 4 months

Estonia's central bank Eesti Pank has in four months bought nearly a half a billion euros worth of bonds of international institutions in the framework of euro area central banks' asset purchase or the so-called money printing programme, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

In June, Estonia's central bank bought 129.3 million, in May 129.8 million, in April 118.9 million and in March 117 million euros worth of bonds, the central bank has announced on its Twitter page.

 

Altogether Eesti Pank has bought 495 million euros worth of bonds.

 

The euro area central banks buy starting March 60 billion euros worth of bonds a month, of which 110-120 million euros is Eesti Pank's share.
