Employees from the Latvenergo subsidiary company Sadales tikls are lending technical assistance to the Estonian Elektrilevi company in dealing with the aftermath of the recent storm. Crews are repairing downed lines and gradually restoring power in southern Estonia, Karula County, informs LETA.

Sadales tikls reports that the storm has caused the most damage seen in many a year, both in Latvia and Estonia, with power lines downed along with their support beams, and hundreds of trees uprooted. 1,000 support beams alone have been replaced in the past four days in Latvia.

Saturday, in Karula County, Estonia, electricians from Limbazi (northern Latvia) worked all day, particularly in the territory of the national park there.

Sadales tikls explained that after completing repair efforts in Latvia, it was free to offer its northern neighbor a helping hand.
