At the moment, Latvenergo share of the Estonian market amounts to 7% and the company's goal is to increase it to 20%, emphasized Kotane.
There are 600,000 households in Estonia, and a part of them could become Latvenergo clients, writes LETA.
Latvenergo share on the Lithuanian market constituted 18% at the end of 2011, said Kotane.
As reported, as of November 1, only households will be able to purchase electricity at a regulated price in Latvia, according to amendments to regulations regarding the trade and use of electricity approved by the government yesterday.
Estonian households will be the first ones in the Baltic States to stop purchasing electricity at regulated prices. As of January 2013, they will begin using the services of competing electricity providers.
It is expected that state-regulated tariffs for households in Latvia and Lithuania will be lifted by 2015.
