The growing demand for wind energy provides work for Estonian entrepreneurs

The growing demand across the world for wind energy provides work for Estonian entrepreneurs, starting from concrete producers and ending with those producing formed washers, writes Äripäev.

As electricity is becoming more and more expensive, searches for alternative energy sources become more urgent and industrial enterprises that have re-oriented to making wind generators have grasped the opportunity.

For example, one of the largest producers of energy products, ABB, is developing production of wind generators in Estonia, investing 50 million kroons into expansion of power machinery factory in Jüri.

Volta is another factory aiming to produce wind motors. The executives of the enterprise see potential for developing in making wind generators meant for use by the general public. “There are enough wind generators with the capacity of 1 MW and higher on the market. However, constant growth in the price of oil has also created a market for smaller turbines which could, for example, be used for producing energy for a farm household, for example,” explains Arvo Oorn.

BLRT Group has also declared that renewable energy is the second most important strategic and prioritised direction besides construction of ships.
