Electricity bourse: Latvia bought less, Finland more in November

Growth of hydro-energy production in Latvia caused the volume of electricity bought at the electricity bourse the "Nord Pool Spot" Estonian price region by nearly 25% in November 2010 while the volume sold to Finland grew by 5%, LETA/Postimees Online cites Elering.

In the Nordic electricity bourse "Nord Pool Spot" Estonian price region, 288.6 GWh of electric energy was bought in November, a fall of 24.6% in a month. Exports to Latvia plunged by nearly 62%.

 

The sold amounts grew in November by 5.5% to 478 GWh. The sold amounts grew thanks to the price differences of Estonia and Finnish price regions and considerable growth of production of Latvian hydro-stations.

 

The average November price in the Estonian price region was 50.35 EUR/MWh, NPS Finland’s price was 56.63 EUR/MWh and Baltpool average was 45.7 EUR/MWh.
