Large biodiesel plant has been built in Ventspils

Print versionA large biodiesel plant has been built for the company Bio-Venta in Ventspils; the new facility will be putting out 100,000 tons of biodiesel each year, as Anita Ozolina, board member at the company Constructus. The plant occupies more than four hectares overall in the territory of the Freeport of Ventspils. Total investments into the new plant exceeded LVL 57 million.

The plant started operating last week, construction of the plant continued for 22 months, informed LETA.
The plant was built according to designs by the joint-stock company Siltumelektroprojekts. More than 20 various buildings and facilities have been built for Bio-Venta by Constructus, including the main offices, terminal for handling canola and canola seeds, canola oil production and treatment sector, biodiesel production sector, a boiler house and other facilities.
