Natgas prices for Lithuania's smallest consumers to rise 6.4% from January

BC, Vilnius, 30.11.2020.Print version
Natural gas prices for the least consuming households in Lithuania will rise as of January, but prices for other groups will remain unchanged, writes LETA/BNS.

Ignitis said the average bill for its customers using gas for cooking will increase by around 14 euro cents per month.

The National Energy Regulatory Council (VERT) approved the new prices for the gas supply company's customers on Monday.

The price for households using natural gas only for cooking (up to 300 cubic meters per year) will rise by 3 cents, or 6.38%, to 50 cents per cubic meter, including VAT, and that for consumers using the fuel to heat their homes (between 300 and 20,000 cubic meters annually) will remain unchanged at 28 cents.

The price for consumers using more than 20,000 cubic meters per year will edge down by 1 cent, or 3.7%, to 26 cents.

The cost of natural gas for the first group of consumers is rising due to an increase in the distribution price.

Ignitis is planning to sell 118 mln cubic meters of gas to household consumers in the first half of 2021.

The price for consumers using natural gas for cooking declined by 14.55%, and that for consumers using it for heating went down by 22.22% in July. Gas prices fell by around percent last January.
