Lithuania's wholesale electricity prices fall 12% w-o-w

Lithuania's average wholesale electricity price fell by 12% last week from a week earlier to the lowest level in the Baltic region, the power transmission system operator Litgrid said.
Electricity prices in Nord Pool's Lithuanian bidding area averaged 38.2 euros per megawatt-hour (MWh) on September 7-13. The average prices in the Latvian and Estonian areas went down by 9% to 39.8 euros and 39.2 euros per MWh, respectively.
Lithuania's power consumption edged up by 1% w-o-w to 223 gigawatt-hours (GWh). The country's domestic production increased by 12% to 125 GWh, covering 56% of its needs.
