New LNG shipment from Norway arrives in Lithuania's Klaipeda

A new large shipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Norway arrived in the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda on Wednesday, marking the 13th such cargo in the gas year that started last October, informed LETA/BNS.

The Arctic Discoverer docked in Klaipeda on Wednesday morning, according to the vessel position tracking websites marinetraffic.com and vesselfinder.com.


The gas carrier brought around 140,000 cubic meters of LNG, Klaipedos Nafta, the Klaipeda LNG terminal's operator, told.

The tanker came from Norway's Melkoya port where Equinor has a LNG production facility, according to the vessel position tracking websites Marinetraffic.com and Vesselfinder.com.


Thirty-four LNG cargoes of some 10,000 cubic meters each have come from the Baltic Sea port of Vysotsk, where Russia's Novatek has a LNG production facility, in the current gas year, too. 

Three large US gas shipments have also arrived in Klaipeda since October, including two in May.
