Fortum businesses top list of recipients of renewable energy subsidy in Estonia in July
That amount of money was paid out as a subsidy to Fortum Eesti AS and its subsidiary Anne Soojus AS combined.
The next biggest recipients of subsidy were Enefit Taastuvenergia OU, which received 740,000 euros, and
companies of Nelja Energia group,
which received 711,000 euros, it appears from data available from the
transmission system operator Elering.
Altogether, Elering paid out over
4.8 million euros in renewable energy support and 84,800 euros in
high-efficiency cogeneration support during July.
In the first seven months of the year, Elering
paid out 40.6 million euros under the former and 2.1 million euros under the
latter item.
The list of recipients of the subsidy in the seven months was topped by Fortum Eesti with 11 million euros, Enefit Taastuvenergia OU being in second
place with eight million euros and Nelja
Energia third with 7.9 million euros.
Elering is planning to
pay out 76.7 million euros in support for renewable energy production this
year. After the first seven months, 53 percent of that amount had been
disbursed.
Renewable energy support and high-efficiency cogeneration support are deemed state aid.
