Sadales Tikls power grid operator to buy 200,000 smart meters for installation across Latvia

Print versionLatvian power grid operator Sadales Tikls is going to buy 200,000 smart meters for installation across Latvia, the company announced LETA.

Sadales Tikls held
a tender for supply of smart meters and the related equipment and chose RECK
company as the winning bidder. The agreement amount is EUR 7.5 mln (VAT
exclusive).
It is planned that under the two-year agreement RECK will
deliver to Sadales Tikls 200,000
smart meters that will be installed at the customers' facilities across Latvia
at the end of this year and in 2018.
"At present smart meters have already been installed at
more than 180,000 locations that belong to corporate customers and households.
It is planned that altogether 110,000 smart meters will be installed across
Latvia this year," said Tatjana
Smirnova, a spokeswoman for Sadales
Tikls.
The plan is to provide all customers in Latvia with smart
meters by 2023.
