Natgas prices for Lithuania's households unlikely to change in January

BC, Vilnius, 22.11.2016.Print version
Natural gas prices for Lithuania's households are likely to remain unchanged in the first half of 2017, reports LETA/BNS.

Lietuvos Duju Tiekimas (Lithuanian Gas Supply, or LDT), a gas trade arm of the state energy group Lietuvos Energija (Lithuanian Energy), says that it has proposed to the National Commission for Energy Control and Prices to leave the prices unchanged from their current levels.

The energy market regulator is to set the final prices for the first half of 2017 by late November.

The price of natural gas for customers using up to 500 cubic meters per year, mostly for cooking, would remain at 0.61 euros per cubic meter, and the price for those using between 501 and 20,000 cubic meters per year at 0.36 euros. Customers using more than 20,000 cubic meters per year would continue to pay 0.35 euros per cubic meter.

The last time natural gas prices for households changed was last July, when the prices were cut by 8%, 14% and 15% for these groups of consumers, respectively.
