"Establishing energy connections in parallel with harmonising market regulations is a prerequisite for an effective energy market with supply stability," said Mihkelson at the meeting of the Estonian, Lithuanian, Latvian and Polish MPs in Krakow.

"We need to provide our partner States with security that the EU cares about their fate," said Mihkelson, when speaking about EU's eastern partnership. He added that the ideas and substance of the eastern partnership are naturally foreign policy priorities for Estonia.

The principal issues discussed in Krakow between MPs of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland were the Baltic Sea strategy, the EU's eastern partnership, the financial crisis and diversification of energy sources.
