Estonia: By 2030 about 45% of energy consumed should be renewable

Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications has submitted to the government Estonia's energy development plan until 2030, according to which by 2030 the share of renewable energy should make up 45 % of the country's total energy consumption, which is expected to total 32 terawatt-hours per year, reported LETA/BNS.

In addition, the open and free fuel and electricity market should function in Estonia by 2030. Among other things 80 % of heat should be produced from renewable energy sources, it is written in the development plan.


According to the plan greenhouse gas emissions should be reduced by at least 70 % compared to 1990 by 2030 and more than 80 % by 2050.
