Eesti Gaas lowers gas price for consumers

BC, Tallinn, 12.12.2014.Print version
Considering the ongoing changes at the fuel market, Estonian main natural gas seller Eesti Gaas will lower the price of gas for consumers in 2015, LETA/Delfi Ärileht reports.

"Our gas import price is dependent on world market fuel oil prices; a calendar month's gas price is calculated on the basis of the average oil prices of the preceding 9 months. Thus the fall of fuel oil prices affects consumer price with a delay period, but for a longer time than the current situation in the fuel market," explained Eesti Gaas Marketing Manager Marge Randmaa.

Therefore, on 1 January, gas price for Estonian domestic consumers will fall by an average of 9% and the selling price of gas to other consumers also decreases.
