ORLEN Lietuva will not be closed - Lithuanian PM

"I have received information from Poland today that they are not going to shut down this plant," told the prime minister to journalists in Brussels.
According to Butkevicius, Lithuania is waiting for answers from Poland to its proposals regarding the reduction in railway rates, 20 percent accumulation of fuel reserves in Lithuania and so on.
The prime minister repeated that ORLEN Lietuva, similarly to other petroleum refining companies operating in the European Union, recently has been facing structural problems determined by fundamental changes in global fuel market.
Butkevicius also denied the information that Lithuania would be offered to buy out ORLEN Lietuva plant.
"No, we are not going to buy it out, but I hope that there will be no need for this. The aim of the Government is that this company would continue its activities," said the prime minister. According to his knowledge, ORLEN Lietuva is not going to temporary suspend its activities.
