Print versionThe book series for young adults by Latvian author Maris Putnins called ''Mezonigie piragi'' has become quite popular in Germany recently, even making the Top 10 list of best selling books in Berlin bookshops.

The series of adventure books called "Die wilden Piroggenpiraten" (in German) have been on sale in German bookshops for several years, and have gradually gained wide attention, writes LETA.
For example, in Latvia, the ''Mezonigie piragi'' series has even exceeded in popularity the ''Harry Potter'' series of books, the director of the Latvian Literature Center Janis Oga said during a Saeima Education, Science and Culture Committee meeting today.
