Baltic states don't see Russia as threat because they are NATO members - Estonian president

BC, Tallinn, 01.06.2017.Print version
Like the other Baltic countries, Estonia does not view Russia as a threat, Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid said, writes LETA/BNS.

"No, it is not," Kaljulaid told the Russian Dozhd TV channel after being asked whether Russia is posing any threat to Estonia.

"NATO's deterrence means have been 100% efficient throughout the entire history of the alliance's existence. Certainly, in order to be able to respond appropriately, NATO needs to constantly develop its deterrence strategy, and we see that NATO is working on that all the time," the Estonian president said.

"Thanks to NATO and thanks to the fact that the Baltic countries are NATO members, our countries do not sense any physical threat today," she said.
