Estonian govt to lift lockdown on islands already on Friday
BC, Tallinn, 07.05.2020.Print version
The Estonian government decided to lift the movement restrictions concerning the islands already from Friday.
"As the gradual opening of the movement between the islands and the mainland has not led to a deterioration of the situation, we will allow everyone to move freely between the islands and the mainland starting tomorrow," Prime Minister Juri Ratas wrote on social media on Thursday.
"At the same time, the rules that protect us all from the virus will remain in force. This means that when going to see the beautiful islands in spring time, you should only go when healthy, following the 2+2 requirement as well as hygiene rules," Ratas added.
Under a previous ruling of the government, restrictions on travel to and from the islands would be lifted from May 18.
