Estonia and Latvia will open an embassy building in Cairo

Print versionPostimees Online: the General Secretaries of the Estonian Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Latvia decided at the meeting in Riga on Friday, that Estonia and Latvia will open the joint embassy in Cairo, writes LETA.

The General Secretary of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Marten Kokk and his Latvian colleague Andris Teikmanis reached an agreement that the Ministries will continue work in order to specify the distribution of costs related to the embassy and other details.
"This is a good example on how to overcome the economically difficult times in co-operation," said Kokk.
At the meeting, the two high-level officials also discussed other co-operation options between the ministries of foreign affairs of Estonia and Latvia, the matters concerning the financial and economic crisis, the energy issues as well as issues related to Russia and the European neighborhood policy's eastern partnership dimension.
