Adamkus appointed two new ambassadors – Renatas Norkus and Gediminas Serksnys

Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus signed decrees assigning new ambassadors to international organizations in Vienna and to the Council of Europe, the President’s press service announced.

Renatas Norkus.

Renatas Norkus has been assigned as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV). The new ambassador will start discharging his duties as of August 12, 2008. He will replace Ambassador Rytis Paulauskas.


Gediminas Serksnys.

Adamkus also signed a decree assigning Gediminas Serksnys as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania to the Council of Europe. Serksnys will replace Neris Germanas in this position, starting his diplomatic mission on October 7, 2008.
