BaltCap Latvia venture capital fund invests in IT company AGroup

BaltCap, the leading private equity and venture capital investor in the Baltic States, invests EUR 1.5 m in Riga-headquartered IT company AGroup to obtain a significant minority stake. This investment is done by BaltCap Latvia Venture Capital Fund which is part of the EU Structural Fund’s co-financed JEREMIE Holding Fund managed by the European Investment Fund in Latvia.

First Lithuanian industrial solar module assembly line opened in Vilnius

On Thursday, Lithuanian Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius opened the first Lithuanian industrial solar module assembly line in Vilnius, in Zirmunai Neighbourhood. The line which cost over 20 million litas (5.8 million euros) was set up in the base of the research and production company Precizika, using the financial assistance of the EU funds which reached 10.068 million litas (2.9 million euros).

Dombrovskis: by 2020, Latvia will increase the funding for science up to 1.5% of GDP

On July 6, during the meeting with European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia Valdis Dombrovskis acknowledged that Latvia has decided to substantially increase the funding for science and research by 2020 up to 1.5% of GDP.
