Wizz Air to end flights to four destinations from Riga

Hungarian low-costs carried Wizz Air will stop flying to four destinations from Riga as of June 1, 2020, the company's representative Andras Rado told LETA.

The Wizz Air representative did not specify which routes from Riga will be closed. However, on the carrier's website it is no longer possible to book flights to Reykjavik, Bergen, Barcelona and Tel Aviv after June 1, LETA observed.


Rado said that Wizz Air has decided to change its route network from Riga as of June 1. The airline plans to relocate one of its planes from Riga Airport. The number of seats in aircrafts departing from Riga will be reduced by 18 percent, but the carrier will continue to operate nine of its 13 routes from the Latvian capital, including the popular flights to London, Dortmund and Eindhoven, the spokesman said.


As reported, Wizz Air plans to discontinue flights from Vilnius to Athens and Reykjavik at the end of March.
