Tourism connections can be resumed as soon as the epidemiological situation and the EU policy allow it, said Latvian Transport Minister Talis Linkaits (New Conservative Party) in a videoconference with Natela Turnava, the Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, informed LETA.

Linkaits' spokeswoman Ilze Salna told that both ministers discussed a possibility to resume passenger transportation between both countries.
Linkaits underscored Latvia's interest to strengthen Riga as the region's aviation hub and informed the Georgian colleague on the current epidemiological safety restrictions at national carrier airBaltic and international airport Riga. The minister said that tourism connections can be resumed as soon as the epidemiological situation and the EU policy allow it.
The Georgian minister underscored that Georgia is ready to take over the good practice and measures for safe travel from the European countries, that allow to further curb spread of the virus.
