Latvian National Opera to be headed by Zigmars Liepins
The Culture Ministry has confirmed that composer and former chief at Radio SWH, Zigmars Liepins, has been appointed the Latvian National Opera's new artistic director and board chairman. According to unofficial information obtained by LETA, Liepins was previously appointed the opera's third board member.

Statistics Estonia’s new building opened in Tallinn
On 1 November, 2013, Statistics Estonia officially opened its new office building at Tatari 51 in Tallinn. The office building has 4,874 square metres of premises. The annual costs of the premises (rent and utilities (heating, electricity, water, maintenance)) are 0.9 million euros. The building accommodates 342 employees.
