The proposal to allot EUR 3.97 mln to the Education and
Science Ministry was supported in principle by the government on August 11. The
extra funds are part of the financing for overcoming the Covid-19 crisis and
fostering economic recovery.
The Education and Science Ministry explains that technical
equipment upgrades at schools began on September 1. To this end, laptop
computers will be bought for schools to be used both in schools and for
distance learning purposes.
According to the ministry, the exact number of laptops will
be clear after the procurement procedure is over, but the approximate number is
6,500 to 7,000 new laptop computers, all of which will have to be delivered by
the end of this year.
