Elita Veidemane starts working as editor in chief of Latvian newspaper Neatkariga

Elita Veidemane will start working for the newspaper "Neatkariga Rita Avize", where she will be the deputy editor in chief, LETA learned from publishing house Mediju nams project manager Raita Celma.
Armands Pucs, Mediju nams chairman of the board explains that the changes are due to the shift in consumer demand, informs LETA.
"Since a long time already the daily newspapers do not produce news anymore, instead the newspapers help people to find answers to their questions and to understand interconnections. Saturation of themes will determine the viability of the publications in future, therefore strong and professional personalities, who are able to ensure these qualities, will move ahead in the newspapers. There is no reason to doubt Veidemane's professional qualities. She joins the newspaper's team as a bright professional, who understands the socio-political processes in the society. Veidemane created her brand working in a daily newspaper and it is only logical that she returns to an environment, where she belongs, the environment in which she gained recognition and love of thousands of readers already in the time of National Awakening," Puce admitted.

Her opinions and comments on the socio-political processes in the country are direct and pungent, her journalism experience is rich. Her non-ordinary point of view will bring help the newspaper the message that the readers are waiting to receive in the era of media environment transformation," says Anita Daukste, editor in chief of the Neatkariga.
