Russia's Niloo takes top award at "New Wave 2012"

Russia's Niloo won the international popular music contest "New Wave 2012" in Jurmala's Dzintari on Sunday, taking the main cash prize of EUR 50,000, reports LETA.
Latvia's five-piece vocal group "Framest" placed fourth at this year's festival.
Altogether, participating in the festival this year were 16 performers from various countries – Armenia, Belarus, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Chinas, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Mexico, Nigeria, Russia, Ukraine, Finland and Latvia.
The first "New Wave" contest was held in 2002. Latvia's entries have won twice: vocal band "Cosmos" in 2004 and Intars Busulis in 2005.
