„JURMALA DISCO-80” – the largest dance event of this summer – a live concert with participation of such disco music legends as „Baccara”, „Ottawan”, „London Beat”, F. R. David, Victor Saltykov (eks – „Electroclub”) and IGO & "Remix" will take place on July 22 on Dzintari Sea Stage on the beach in Jurmala. The favourite hits of many generations such as „Yes Sir, I Can Boogie” by „Baccara”, „D.I.S.C.O.” and „Hands Up” by „Ottawan”, „Words” by F. R. David, „I’ve Been Thinking About You” by „London Beat” and many others will be performed during the live concert on July 22 in the very heart of the resort city of Jurmala. The admirers of the disco music will have a possibility to recall in memory their youth spent in disco clubs and maybe also the first love, while dancing 120 bits per second and enjoying the summer breeze over Jurmala beach.

Disco music of 80s is a unique phenomenon in the history of music. It is the music which is admired by many generations – from those who was about to graduate from high school in 80s, to modern youth. These are unbelievably positive and sunny melodies which have turned musical consciousness of people all over the world in 80s – an epoch „with its own face”. Shining clothes, pointy collars, incredible „minis” and not less seductive „maxis”, backcombing and bright make-up – the underlined shine, glamour and beauty in all – fashion comes back together with the music!

The “Disco 80s” concert will take place on a new concert platform – “Dzintari Sea Stage” („Dzintaru Jūras Estrāde”) – an open-air concert hall – that will be built this summer in the most central place of Jurmala (Latvia) – on the beach in Dzintari between the coastline and the beginning of Turaidas street. Dzintari Sea Stage will become the biggest concert hall ever existed in Jurmala with the capacity of up to 4500 visitors. Dzintari Sea Stage will have a well-developed infrastructure – for the convenience of the visitors the sandy beach will be covered by a wooden floor, the scene that will be located near the sea will be equipped with the advanced professional light, sound and video facilities. The unique location of the Stage will offer inhabitants and visitors of Jurmala to attend the concerts and at the same time to enjoy the most important treasure of the resort city – the beautiful Jurmala beach and a splendid view onto the sunset near the sea.
