The winners of the national film festival "Lielais Kristaps 2012" Awards in 23 categories were announced last night at a televised ceremony in Riga's "Splendid Palace", writes LETA.

The top award for Best Picture went to director Jevgenijs Paskevics' "Golfa straume zem ledus kalna" (Gulf Stream Under the Iceberg), while top acting honors were earned by Andris Keiss for "Serzanta Lapina atgriesanas" (The Return of Sergeant Lapins), sharing with the late Romualds Ancans for "Rudolfa mantojums" ((Rudolfs' Legacy), and Iveta Pole for "Kolka Cool".

Paskevics was also named Best Director.
