This summer, U.S. pop singer Lady Gaga will perform a concert in Riga as part of her European tour promoting her latest album ''Born This Way'', LETA was informed by the FBI concert agency.

The five-time ''Grammy'' award winner will perform in Riga on August 23 at the Mezaparks open-air stage.

The singer will begin her ''Born This Way'' world tour at the end of this month with a concert in Seoul (South Korea). On the other hand, she will kick off her European tour at the beginning of August in Sofia (Bulgaria).

This will be Lady Gaga's first concert in Latvia, and it is predicted that the concert in the Riga suburb of Mezaparks will gather at least 40,000 concert goers and become one of the biggest show business events in Latvia's history.

The album ''Born This Way'' was released in 2011 and has already sold over six million copies world wide.

Lady Gaga is also the first ever musician to have four singles from her debut album shot up straight to number one in the world music charts – ''Just Dance'', ''Poker Face'', ''Lovegame'' and ''Paparazzi''.

The single ''Poker Face'' is also one of the top selling singes in music history, selling 9.8 million copies worldwide.

In 2010, the musician was nominated for a whopping 13 MTV music awards, winning eight of them.

Tickets to the concert will go on sale at the end of April. The cost of a standing area tickets will be LVL 39.
