Estonia appoints Colonel Hoppe the chief of Defence Forces headquarters

The Estonian government approved on Thursday of appointing Colonel Peeter Hoppe the chief of Defence Forces headquarters as of Friday, LETA/Postimees Online reports.
Hoppe (51) joined the Estonian Defence Forces in 1993 in the Kuperjanov battalion and reached the battalion chief's post. In 2002-2005 he was Land Forces headquarters chief. He has worked in NATO Allied Joint Force Command HQ Brunssum. Since 2011, he works as Defence Forces headquarters deputy chief in operative issues.
The previous chief of Defence Forces headquarters Brigade General Riho Terras became the commander-in-chief of Estonian Defence Forces this week.
