Latvian actor Romualds Ancans dies

Long-time Daile Theater actor and well-known Latvian movie star Romualds Ancans died overnight at the age of 67, wriets LETA.
A 1970 theater arts graduate from the Latvian State Conservatory, he made his film debut in a supporting role in the lighthearted "Isa pamaciba milesana" (1973) [A Short Course in Loving]. He is widely remembered for his comedic sparkle in "Limuzins Janu nakts krasa" [Limousine the Color of Midsummer Night], and most recently, for one of the leads in the critically-acclaimed "Rudolfa mantojums" [Rudolfs' Inheritance].
Ancans' first stage roles at Daile were bit parts while he was still studying acting. Critics and audiences saw a new star rising in bigger roles soon after graduation – in "Orpheus", "The Rainmaker" and "The Last Barrier".
