Reconstruction of Zarasai Water Treatment Plant is to cost 5.6 million litas (1.6 million euros).

The administration of Zarasai District Municipality and joint venture partners Pireka and Dzukijos Statyba have signed a contract on reconstruction works at Zarasai Water Treatment Plant. For this project, 58 percent of all finances were allocated from the state budget, 27 percent were allocated from the EU Cohesion Fund and 15 percent from the finances belonging to Zarasai District Municipality. According to Zarasai Mayor Arnoldas Abramavicius, present water treatment plant urgently needed to be reconstructed and modernized.
