The Lithuanian National Basketball team crashed the Argentineans by 104:85 in the World Basketball Championship and for the first time in its history will play in the semi finals, LETA/The Lithuania Tribune reports.

The Lithuanian team has celebrated seventh victory in the row and will meet the USA national team in the semi finals on September 11.

The seventh place is the highest place the Lithuanian National Basketball team had managed to achieve in the World Basketball Championship in 1998 and in 2006.

Considering the fact that many of the best players had refused to play for the National team the young team has already created history. Many basketball pundits are convinced if the Lithuanians will play the Americans as well as they have played today it would be possible to beat them. Basketball considered to be the second religion in Lithuania.
