The ruling coalition supports the candidacies of Jonas Liesys for the position of Seimas Deputy Speaker, Edita Ziobiene for the position of Children's Rights Ombudsman and Gediminas Gina for the position of the Head of the State Security Department (VSD), reports LETA/ELTA.

"The election of the Seimas Deputy Speaker is very important to us. And once again, the coalition confirmed that it supports the candidacy of Jonas Liesys, and the approval of the Children's Rights Ombudsman position tomorrow," said Deputy Chairman of the Liberal and Centre Union Algis Caplikas.

He also said that the candidacy of Gediminas Grina, proposed by President Dalia Grybauskaite for the head of the State Security Department made a good impression on the coalition partners. "The candidacy for the VSD Head makes a good impression; at least, such were the first comments. This is what the VSD head should be," said Caplikas.
