Cold weather the case for February 2009 in Latvia

Print versionIt was minus 12 degrees Celsius in Riga on February 1, and the Weather Agency informs LETA that it will be cold and dry for most of the month. Temperatures will remain below zero, with lows between minus 10 and minus 15.
Daytime highs will be between minus 2 and minus 7.
By mid and end month, it will become cloudier and precipitation (wet snow and rain) is forecast on some days.
Last night was frosty, especially in eastern Latvia, with the lowest reading registered in Daugavpils at minus 23. Riga notched minus 15.
