Latvian culture exhibition is opened at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris

A Latvian culture and history exhibition will be opened at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris today. It will include the 22-meter long painting "World's Largest Choir", depicting the 24th Latvian Song and Dance Festival, which took place this summer, as Latvian National Commission for UNESCO informed LETA.
The exhibition will feature also photo exhibition "Latvia 90", prepared by the Foreign Ministry, as well as paintings and a video of the National Song and Dance Festival choir performances.
The 22-meters long painting "World's Largest Choir" consists of 12 individual paintings 1.45 meters in width and 1.85 meters in height co-joined and each depict the artist's impressions of the Song and Dance Festival. The creators are Art Academy students Janis Dukats, Kristians Brekte, Dace Gaile, Sandra Muizniece, Ieva Petersone, Laura Vecmane, Ansis Butnors, Sanda Undzena, Ansis Braslins, LAA's Rector Aleksejs Naumovs and Pro-Rector Kristaps Zarins.
The painting's creative process has been captured in photographs and in a 15-minute short film, made by Lizete Murovska, which will also be demonstrated.
The exhibition in Paris is organized by the Latvian Art Academy, in cooperation with the Latvian National Commission for UNESCO, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Permanent Delegation of Latvia to UNESCO.
