Kalnins extends contract with Helsinki Jokerit

Latvian goaltender Janis Kalnins has signed a one-year extension with Finnish ice hockey club Helsinki Jokerit, informed LETA/BNS.

The 27-year-old is having an excellent season with the Kontinental Ice Hockey League club, allowing on average 2.09 goal per game and a 92.8% save percentage this season.

Kalnins joined Jokerit this off-season after playing for Latvian ice hockey club Riga Dinamo the previous season.

Kalnins also made his debut with the Latvian national men's ice hockey team at this year's Ice Hockey World Championships.
