Nine teams to compete in Latvian Higher Football League next season

Next season, there will be nine football teams competing in Latvian Higher League, the Latvian Football Federation's board unanimously decided on Monday, reported LETA/BNS.

From 2020, the number of teams competing in Latvian Higher League will increase to ten.

The ninth club to compete in Latvian Higher League next season is Valmiera Glass/ViA, which placed last, or in eighth place this season.

The 2019 season at the Higher Football League will start in mid-March. Last season, the first matches of the season were played at the end of March and beginning of April.
