Gulbis, Ostapenko, Kontaveit through to 3rd round at Wimbledon

On Thursday, Latvia's top-ranked tennis Ernests Gulbis defeated Damir Dzumhur (Bosnia & Herzegovina) 2-6, 6-4, 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 to advance to the third round of the Wimbledon Grand Slam tennis tournament. At the moment, Gulbis is ranked 139th in the world, while Dzumhur is ranked 23rd, informs LETA.
Gulbis has earned 115 ATP ranking points for advancing to the third round of Wimbledon, where he will take on the winner of the second-round dual between Taylor Fritz (United States) and Alexander Zverev (Germany).
Latvia's top-ranked lady tennis player Alona Ostapenko defeated Belgium's Kirsten Flipkens 6-1, 6-3 in the second-round of the Wimbledon Grand Slam tennis tournament.
At the moment, Ostapenko is ranked 12th in the WTA rankings, while Flipkens is ranked 45th.
Ostapenko has earned 130 WTA ranking points for advancing to the third round of Wimbledon, where she will take on Russia's Vitalia Diatchenko, who is currently ranked 132nd in the world.
Estonia's top tennis player Anett Kontaveit (WTA 27) won against U.S. tennis player Jennifer Brady (WTA 74) on Thursday, advancing to the third round of the Wimbledon tennis tournament.
Kontaveit won with a score of 6-2, 7-6(4). In the third round Kontaveit will play against Belgian Alison Van Uytvanck (WTA 47).
