Hermanis stages Bulgakov's Heart of a Dog in Zurich

Print versionLatvian stage director Alvis Hermanis has put Russian author Mikhail Bulgakov’s story The Heart of a Dog on stage at the Schauspielhaus Zurich in Switzerland, the theater said on its website, cites LETA.
Hermanis is the production’s director and set designer, and Kristine Jurjane has created the costumes.
The Heart of a Dog is a grotesque satire set in post-revolution Russia where a celebrated Moscow surgeon transplants some human organs into a stray dog. The result of the operation is unexpected and devastating as the professor’s new creation becomes uncontrollable and starts wreaking havoc in his life.
Hermanis' production will run at Schauspielhaus Zurich until March 2.
