German synth-pop band Alphaville is to perform at the Arena Riga on December 29, Danute Vareikaite, a representative of the concert’s promoter Bravo Events, told LETA.

Alphaville, founded in 1983, is known as one of the most successful German pop acts of the 1980s. The group rose to international fame with hits like Big in Japan, Forever Young and Sounds Like a Melody, among others.

Alphaville released the latest of its six albums in 2010. The band continues to perform live shows under frontman Marian Gold’s leadership.
