A lineup of the greatest hits by Guiseppe Verdi is sure to draw audiences in large number this year at the Riga Opera Festival (June 1-12), informs LETA.
The Latvian National Opera company is gearing up four of its Verdi productions: Rigoletto, La Traviata, Il Trovatore, Macbeth, Aida, but the fifth show will be a star-studded Gala concert titled Viva Verdi!
Such international luminaries as Marina Rebek, Alexander Antonenko, Egils Silins, Liene Kinca and Samson Izyumov are on the festival bill. Valdis Jansons and Sonora Vaice will also be singing.
