Around 8,000 people, over a thousand of them from abroad, are expected to attend a major gathering of Jehovah's Witnesses this weekend in Tallinn, LETA/Delfi reports.

Already on Monday, over a thousand people from abroad arrived in Estonia for the purpose. Jehova's Witnesses spokesman Tan Silliksaar said that up to 8,000 people are expected to convene at the A. Le Coq football stadium in central Tallinn from Friday to Sunday.

Silliksaar said that the gathering consists besides the stadium events also of other different activities for the foreign guests like excursions, evening entertainment events.

Almost all of Tallinn's bigger and better hotels have already been booked by the guests, Silliksaar said.

The arriving delegates are chosen by their country's Jehovah's Witnesses and sent as guests. Nonetheless, the gathering is open to everyone.

There are over 4,000 Jehovah's Witnesses in Estonia. Worldwide, there are more than 8 million of Jehovah's Witnesses.
