Vanessa Mae's live show in Riga rescheduled

Singaporean-born British violin virtuoso Vanessa Mae's live concert at "Arena Riga" has been rescheduled – for reasons out of Mae's control. The concert's organizers informed LETA that the show, originally scheduled for March 30, has been rescheduled for May 31, 2015.
All previously-purchased tickets remain valid. The organizers apologize for the inconvenience, offering a 30 percent discount to Vladimir Kuzmin's concert on April 4, and the Electric Light Orchestra live show on April 30.
The so-called "Princess of the Violin" is returning to the stage after a break of several years. She is slated to play pieces by Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Sebastian Bach, Niccolo Paganini and a number of modern composers.
Mae's favorite violin – "Gizmo", is a masterpiece made by members of the Guadagnini family in 1761.
Vanessa Mae was only nine years old when she made her concert debut, but a year later already performed on stage with the Philharmonia Orchestra in London. Mae was the youngest student at the Royal College of Music, and in 1991 released her debut album "Violin".
A year later she started to play electric violin and her first pop-style album, "The Violin Player", was released in 1994.
In 1996, Mae – as "Best Female Artist", was nominated at the "BRIT Awards". She is the first classical music performer nominated for this award.
A year later, Vanessa was invited to perform at the ceremony of the re-unification of Hong Kong with China where she was the only foreign performer. As the last accord of her performance, she played songs from album "China Girl", which was composed in honor of her Eastern roots. Mae's last album "Double Platinum" was released in 2007.
The violin virtuoso in February surprised the world again by representing Thailand in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi as an alpine skier with the name Vanessa Vanakorn.
The concert is organized by EM Concert Agency.
