Record amount of songs compete to be Estonia’s Eurovision 2015 entrance

A record amount of songs, 219, were submitted to the contest Estonian Song 2015 by deadline on Monday, and one of them will be chosen as Estonia’s entrance at the Eurovision Song Contest next year, LETA/National Broadcasting reports.
Estonian Song 2015 producer Heidy Purga said that submitting such a big amount of songs is a very big compliment for the contest. ""It can be concluded that the Estonian Song is unique and based on this event, it is reasonable for musicians to set their plans for the future. However, it is also a sign that in the television sense, it isn’t really possible to offer one's music anywhere."
Together with the songs submitted today, in seven years when Estonia has organised the Estonian Song as Eurovision's entrance contest, 1,128 songs have been submitted.
A music experts' jury will select 20 semi-finalists from all the songs that were submitted and those will be declared at ETV’s evening show “Ringvaade” this Thursday.
In semi-finals on February 7 and 14, ten songs will be selected by people and jury that will get to the final concert on February 21 1 at the Nokia concert hall in Tallinn.
