The world's first Europeade Monument was opened near the Daugava Embankment in Riga's Old Town yesterday.

Riga Mayor Janis Birks (For Fatherland And Freedom/LNNK) said LETA during the ceremony that it was a great honor for Riga to accept the monument, a present for the successful Europeade festival organized in Riga in 2004.
