During the solemn celebration of Coronation of King Mindaugas, the Council of Alytus District Municipality named former president Valdas Adamkus' wife Alma Adamkiene the honorary citizen of Alytus district for her philanthropic achievements. Alma Adamkiene Charity and Support Fund supported Alytus Simnas special school and Butrimonys gymnasium, informs LETA/ELTA.

Adamkiene was proposed for the nomination of honorary citizen by Butrimonys gymnasium, eldership, community Sviesa and Eiciunai community.

Alma Adamkiene was accompanied by her husband former president Valdas Adamkus. Alytus Mayor Algirdas Vrubliauskas awarded Alma Adamkiene with the Honorary Citizen badge, its miniature and certificate.
